Distance Education Instructors are employed by the University to teach certain distance learning courses (Internet, asynchronous, synchronous, and video-based). Distance Education Adjuncts lead in the instruction of small groups of students organized around synchronous chat groups. These adjuncts are under the supervision of the Distance Education Instructors and are responsible for leading chats and threaded discussions and grading all academic work for their section. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Cafetalk

Cafetalk is an online teaching platform designed to make the exchange of online lessons fun and inspiring for both students and tutors. All lessons are carried out using Skype.

Cafetalk is currently used by tutors and students around the world.Cafetalk started out offering language lessons to Japanese students learning English. We have about 37,000 students and 800 tutors, so it's still small, but we are growing fast and getting new students by the minute! We are looking for online tutors for any language.
Qualifications
Teaching experience is preferred but not a must if you meet all of the following criteria
Native speaker of the language you plan on teaching
Fast and stable internet connection with PC or Mac and webcam
Basic computer skills
Strong time management skills
Strong communication skillsIf you do not speak English and want to teach another language, you have to be able to communicate in Japanese.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The adjunct position serves on a part-time basis as an instructor to the HIT Associates Degree, Medical Auditing Certificate, Clinical Documentation Certificate, or HIT Coding Certificate students. The courses are online. This is an evening program on weekdays. The Associates degree program is accredited through AHIMA/CAHIIM and follows all required competencies and course content.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach and instruct students enrolled in the online HIT courses

Develop syllabus, course outline, and instructional material for the HIT course

Supervise online Virtual Lab clinical experience for selected courses

Effectively deliver online instruction through the use of Laboure College's e-learning system

Contribute to the academic environment through ongoing development and assessment of curriculum with the HIT Chairperson

Participate in service to the college through program-level committees and meetings

Maintain professional credentials through participation in professional development/continuing education

Demonstrate ability to work as a team member and promote a positive work environment

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
An earned Bachelor's Degree with healthcare certification, such as RN, RHIA or RHIT, CCS or CPC

More than one year of work experience in the Healthcare/HIM field

More than one year of teaching experience
