To qualify as a University of Phoenix faculty member, you must meet the following minimum criteria*:
A master’s or doctoral degree from a U.S. regionally accredited institution (or international equivalent) related to the subject you wish to teach. Some courses require a doctoral degree or more specific qualifications.
Work experience related to the subject you wish to teach. Requirements vary by course and program.

General requirements: Masters with current professional experience in course related topics.
Training: Online session, currently 2 weeks. Criteria established for passing to the next phase based on attendance, participation and completion of assignments.
Mentoring: After you pass the online training, you will teach a course with an experienced instructor monitoring the course. The monitor may assist additional development tasks, require specific class related activities and will provide weekly written feedback.
Evaluation: Annual Peer Evaluations, random. Course evaluation by students for each class.
General Instructor requirements: Sign on to course 5 out of 7 days per week and post 5 substantial items to students. These are in addition to responses to questions and weekly assignments. Written feedback and grades must be posted no later than 6 days after the due date or close. Final grades must be submitted within 7 days of the final course class date. Attendance for online CAM – faculty meetings and continued in-service for faculty. CAM – College meetings usually 3-4 times per year. In-service as much as you want!
Undergraduate:
Regular Course Length - 5 Weeks. $950.00 in 2 Payments.
Introductory Course – 3 weeks. $570 in 2 payments.
Graduate:
Regular Course Length – 6 Weeks - $1200 in 2 payments.
Introductory Course – 3 Weeks $600.00 in 2 payments.
Independent Study: 1 to 1 courses. $225.00
Incentive/Bonus:
Available for professional publications mentioning affiliation with UOP, $250 each. Instructor referral – varies by department.
After teaching 3 years with UOP, a minimum of 1 course per year – you are eligible for a roughly 10% per course increase for payment.
Ph.D. qualifications, increased rate per course.
